Styr1 - Odour neutraliser for styrene

Styrene is widely used in production techniques. It is a volatile organic compound (VOC) a hazardous air pollutant (HAP), also carrying an unpleasant odour. Styr can be used to improve pollution control & health and safety, by reducing styrene the airborne styrene content.

Styr is a non-toxic blend of food-grade emulsifiers and essential oils, specifically designed for tackling the odours emitted by styrene. Styr is typically applied via a finely-atomised mist that will combat styrene in the air, reducing styrene emissions by up to 98% in just 20 minutes, and almost instantly removing odours, creating environmentally harmless new compounds.

Styr enhances the solubility of styrene in order to allow it to be absorbed by airborne Styr, and subsequently neutralised. When styrene is absorbed, it is transformed chemically into other odourless compounds (as illustrated in the diagram). Styr can be applied by scrubbers, a high-pressure nozzle air atomising unit, fan-based unit or specially tailored equipment.
